Special Services:
Commencement Week Services,
Baptism,
Weddings, Funerals, and Memorials
Dedicated on Armistice Day 1932, The Memorial Church was erected as a gift of the alumni to Harvard University. Services and Baptisms in the Protestant non-denominational tradition are held during
the Fall, Spring, and Summer Terms, with weddings, commitment ceremonies, funerals and memorial services for members of the University held throughout the year.
SUNDAY SERVICES Spring Schedule
During the academic year, Sunday services are broadcast on Harvard’s radio station, WHRB 95.3 FM. For those outside the Cambridge area, WHRB provides
live Internet streaming from its Web site, at www.whrb.org. Services take place at 11:00 a.m. eastern time.
Parking for Sunday Services
Parking for Sunday Services is available until 1:00 p.m. in the Littauer lot, directly behind Littauer Hall. Access to this lot is from Oxford Street. From the driveway off Oxford Street, continue on through the DEAS Lot;
Littauer is at the end. Note that vehicles parked in the assigned spaces of the adjacent lot (AUST) will be towed. Vehicular access to Harvard Yard is severely limited, and is restricted to those with mobility difficulties
only. Vehicular access is available only through the Widener Library Gate off Massachusetts Avenue. Vehicles must not be left on the pathways, where they interfere with the passage of official University and emergency traffic.
Nursery and Child Care
During the Sunday services, a nursery is available on the ground floor of the Church with child care provided by the Church School
teachers for children ages one through three. For infants under the age of one, parents are welcome to make use of the nursery
facilities when the child is accompanied by an adult. For further information, contact the Church office at 617-495-5508.
Ushers
The ushers are undergraduate and graduate members of the University who assist at all of the public services and occasions
in The Memorial Church. New ushers are always welcome to serve. For more information, contact the Sexton, Richard D. Campbell,
at 617-496-3195, Wednesday through Sunday.
Chancel Flowers
Flowers in the chancel may be given in celebration of baptisms, weddings, or other occasions of joy, or in thanksgiving for the
lives of those who have departed or have given light to our lives. Those interested should send a check for $125, payable to Harvard
University, to the attention of Nancy Granert in the Church office. Please include the names of those to be remembered exactly as
they should appear in our announcements. For more information, contact the Church office at 617-495-5508.

MORNING PRAYERS Spring Term Schedule
A daily service of Morning Prayers has been kept at Harvard since its founding in 1636. Held in Appleton Chapel, the service consists of music, prayer, and a brief address given by a member
or friend of the University. This service, open to all, is designed to enable students and faculty to attend nine o’clock classes.
Music at Morning Prayers is provided by the Choral Fellows of the Harvard University Choir,
who sing a wide selection of anthems and psalms in a variety of styles. On Saturdays, the music is provided by soloists, small ensembles, or instrumentalists.

SPECIAL SERVICES
Commencement Week Services
The Baccalaureate Service for Harvard College will be held on Tuesday, June 3rd, at 2:00 p.m. A service for degree candidates of the Divinity School, their families, and members of the Faculty of Divinity
will be held on Wednesday, June 4th, at 4:30 p.m. The Chapel Service for Seniors in Harvard College is on Commencement Morning, Thursday, June 5th, at 8:30 a.m.

The sacrament of baptism is available upon consultation with the clergy. Ordinarily, baptism is preceded by at least two meetings with a member of the clergy, during which the history and meaning of the sacrament
are discussed. Friends of the congregation, both infants and adults, are particularly encouraged to present themselves as candidates for Christian baptism at the Great Vigil of Easter Even, celebrated at 11:00 p.m.
on Holy Saturday, March 22nd. Those interested should contact Leslie Kress, Staff Assistant to the University Chaplain, by calling 617-496-1643. You may mark the appropriate box on a pew card when attending a
Sunday service if you would like the Church office to contact you with further information.
