Joseph Haydn as Embodiment of the Enlightenment and Spirituality

Harvard University Professor Robert Levin will deliver the prestigious William Belden Noble Lectures at The Memorial Church in Harvard Yard, on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, December 1st–3rd, at 8:00 p.m. Professor Levin has chosen to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the composer Joseph Haydn’s death in a lecture series titled “Joseph Haydn as Embodiment of the Enlightenment and Spirituality.” Each evening will explore a different facet of the composer’s career. <more>

University of Cambridge 800th Anniversary Lecture

The Memorial Church is pleased to observe the 800th Anniversary of the University of Cambridge, England, with a lecture on Thursday, December 3rd, at 4:00 p.m. in the Pusey Rooom of The Memorial Church. Delivering the lecture will be Gordon Johnson, President of Wolfson College and Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of Cambridge. His lecture titled “University and Society: Contemporary Cambridge and Harvard in their Historical Context.” This lecture is free and all are invited to attend.
